Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2/18/2026

FindWork is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect only the minimum information required to operate the platform and connect students with businesses.

1. What we collect

We use a data minimisation approach. Depending on your role, we may collect:

  • Account data: email address, password hash, role (student, business, admin), and verification status.
  • Student profile data: first name, suburb, age range, availability, and skills/interests.
  • Business profile data: business name, ABN, suburb, and contact email.
  • Job and interaction data: job posts, saved jobs, expressions of interest, reports, and moderation actions.
  • Security data: basic technical information (such as IP-based rate limits and anti-spam signals) to protect the platform.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and maintain your account and profile.
  • To publish and manage job listings.
  • To relay communication between students and businesses.
  • To enforce safety rules, investigate reports, and prevent misuse.
  • To meet legal obligations and maintain platform integrity.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not run ads targeting minors.
  • We do not provide private direct messaging outside moderated platform flows.

4. Data sharing

We share information only where necessary to operate FindWork, including infrastructure, email delivery, and security providers. These providers process data on our behalf and are expected to protect it appropriately.

Student email addresses are not directly exposed to businesses through listings. Contact occurs through platform relay mechanisms where possible.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for platform operations, safety, legal compliance, and dispute handling.

You can request deletion of your profile and account using self-service tools in the platform where available. We may retain limited records where required for legal or safety reasons (for example, moderation logs and abuse-prevention data).

6. Your rights and choices

  • Access and update your profile data.
  • Delete your account and profile (subject to legal/safety retention needs).
  • Request a copy of your data where functionality is available.
  • Contact us with privacy questions or concerns.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and secure storage controls provided by our infrastructure.

8. Cookies and tracking

FindWork uses essential cookies or similar storage for authentication, session management, and core platform functionality. We do not use behavioural ad tracking for minors.

9. Children and under-18 users

FindWork is designed for students and young people seeking local work opportunities. We apply additional safeguards, moderation, and policy controls to support age-appropriate, safer use.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
